London family doctors have warned GPs from across the UK what they could expect from Lord Darzi’s plans.
Southwark GP Stewart Kay told the BMA annual conference of local medical committees: ‘Our practices have been starved of resources for years.
‘Now in London we have been told that all new premises investment will go into Darzi buildings … That which is visited in London today will rapidly spread across the UK if not opposed.’
London GP Stephen Amiel said only 45 patients in Camden had backed Healthcare for London plans for polyclinics, which were due to be announced by NHS London today (12/06/08).
